NWPC Sacramento has endorsed nearly two dozen women candidates for local offices in the 2020 election. SacNWPC also has taken positions on two state propositions and one local measure on the ballot. Check the websites below for more information and to get involved.
SACRAMENTO MEASURE A -- OPPOSE
Measure A would change Sacramento City government from the current Council-Manager system to a Strong Mayor model, in which the Mayor would have executive power and the Council would be a separate legislative body. Website: https://www.nowaymeasurea.com/
PROP 17: RESTORE VOTING RIGHTS -- SUPPORT
Proposition 17 restores voting rights to people released from prison who are still on parole. Current law restores the right to vote only after parole is completed, keeping nearly 50,000 people from exercising a fundamental American right that would help support their successful reintegration into their communities.
